and lets not forget with SVTs being so cheap now people are not as interested in buying things like SVT uims, lims, exhaust, etc because they don't need it of course

Not to mention many people preferring to drop in new/semi-new 3.0's from Escapes etc. instead of opting for the 3L small block hybrids. Only a few SVT parts are needed in a swap compared to a hybrid.

As the Contours get older, this will be the trend.
However, some of it is seasonal. When the weather gets better in the spring more people will be working on their cars and doing mods.

True, it tends to die down during the winter season. Once the spring rolls around people will get the "bug" to work on the car. As far as the 3.0L option, I would like to see in the future how many SVT's stuck it out with the 2.5L.

i'm kinda curious as to how many "true" svts we have left on this board? true= 2.5l h.o engine
