That's way too much for a scanner. I bought an OBDII scanner on ebay for $40. It works like a charm on ALL OBDII vehicles. Harborfreight.com had them on sale for around $50us a few weeks ago too.

There will ONLY be a code if the Check Engine light is lit. If the light is off, scanning it is pretty much useless.




The plus side of the scanners from Canadian Tire is that they do more than read codes.
