Link proving me right. Want to throw links at one another? I can do this all day.
You started this nonsense by saying that a DeLorean was nothing more than an Esprit with a different engine. When proven wrong you've done nothing but backpedal. What is next from you?

Spare us.
However well intentioned and correct you *think* you are, it comes out as complete bull$[censored] by the time you type it. This started in the Northstar 350 thread and has ruined every other technical discussion you've been in.
P.S. What I think about technical info in Wikipedia

Or the guy that lost his job over someone stating on Wiki that he was a suspect in the Kennedy assiasination. It's a damn good source but I wouldn't believe everything that's on there at all.

All that link stated was that it was BASED of the Espirit! Who cares?! The Escape platform is based off the friggin' Contour. THEY SHARE A LOT!!!!! I could pick your posts apart all day long but Horse summed it up nicely and saved me the trouble.

sorry I forgot to include the fact that the Alpine A310 was also the same car as the DeLorean and the Esprit
After all it shares the rear engine of the D and has the same PRV engine . . .
And it was based on the Esprit as well, oh oh oh
and the Venturi atlantique as well!!!
Can anyone else think of a mid engined car based on the esprit?

NO! it could make a Raid effort for Dakar, but that is proverbial Mitsu and Nissan country and they would get wasted. The last time a mainstream american manufacturer went into competative racing IIRC was the caddilac LMP project. (not counting the extreamly well done effort by pratt on the vette cars) GM pulled the plug after 3 years of zero success. Only Panoz and barely Saleen are still alive in Lemans competition. American manufacturers are not very willing to sink untold millions into racing programs that in effect provide the common american with any sort of urge to buy the car. Why do I spend millions on a Raid Jeep in Dakar? Well that would make sense because its a rough and tumble event that would make Jeep look great. The only problem is that for at least 1 year their team would look like a bunch of pansies getting wiped around the god forsaken african desert. ot to mention that your average expensive Jeep owner has no clue what the Dakar even is, again round the circle to NPV and ROI. Its just not financailly viable.
Although I agree with your argument 100% you are wrong on one specific area... GM is still heavily involved w/ Le Mans and the ALMS. The corvettes have won their class at le mans for how many years in a row now? Not to mention how many consecutive championships they have won.
