Speaking of the C6.R's...Good news for European Corvette fans, both of the factory run '05 cars have been sold and will be racing in Europe next season. The ALMS team will, of course, be running with new cars this year.
Who they'll be beating is yet to be decided as no one has committed.

In retrospect, it was all downhill from here. RIP, CEG.

no DBR9's??
No 575LM?
Man - that stinks. After the vette guys put up such a cry baby approach to the saleen and they were handicap'd with small restrictors the S7 has not been competative. The Viper is also not worth it to any team. I guess it will be bowtie by default

you're just mad because Vette owns you. If the Saleen can't compete, then it isn't a viable platform. Whine all you guys want, the Corvette has one several times in a row now, despite all the "european dominance" that you guys seem to want to preach to everyone. Steve Saleen needs to get off of Tim Allens wiener for a while and start paying attention to the kind of cars he is messing around with. As for the Jeep comment, ever hear of a new, Lancer-based car called the Compass? yeah that's what they will be using if/when they enter the rally competition. I don't understand why you guys feel the need to pick apart my sentences. All I said was that the DMC-12 was BASED off of the same platform as the Esprit, with a Renault powerplant. How hard is it to just say, "yes you are right, for the most part." instead of "everything but a few of the major details you told us was wrong." Negativity is what most people call it. And for the sake of decency, BigMoney. I admitted I was wrong SEVERAL times on the Northstar 350 thing. Let it go. Lest I remind you of how you are the only one on earth that cares that there really is a 5-door SVTF... What a nerd... I try to be civil about things, but you very obviously have a mental deficiency that forces you to piss off people on the internet to make you feel better about yourself. I guess you feel real special when you infer that someone should commit suicide with a gun like you did to me earlier huh? I think someone needs to go outside and find a girlfriend. You're starting to sound like you're holding a vendetta against me...purely a childish reaction, of course.

I am not mad at the vette - in fact if you would read instead of presuppose you would notice that I was praising a stellar effort by the PM team, even if it was/is in a sparcely populated field. They win because of impeccable team organization, no one alive can fault them there. Their car is not always the most competative, but they kill people with their methodical preperation for the inevitable. There has never been any reall european domiance in the GTS class - so I dont know where you are inferring this from, but it wasnt from anyone here. The fact that you have absolutly no knolwedge of how a racing system works and how the parity hanidcap system works futher illustrates my point perfectly. You can take a rancid porkchop and given sufficient leway in the rules make it faster than a C6R - if the rules let you. These same rules are what allowed BMW to cram in a V8 into an M3 for one o two seasons (I dont remember) - but you can bet the porsche crew screamed bloody murder when they did. The same goes for the first year of the saleen and the vette boys. Rules are there to establish a semi-uniform racing group within each class of LM style racing. There are 4 distinct and diferent groups. Learn a bit about them before you post agian please.

you say that your trying to be civil and mature about things and then post up this?

your very limited credability has just gone out the proverbial window.
Do you realize that Saleen has carved out his own supercar? do you realize that it is an amazing car? or is a corvette better? Basic rule #1 Think before post.
That leads me directly into:

Google
Hummmm I dont see a single thing that is Lancer about this - NOTHING! In fact: Originally posted by DCX: The Jeep® Compass inspired by the 1998 Jeep Jeepster concept and built on a Jeep Liberty platform. . .
And before you get all huffy - it says the same thing in every link on the front page of the google search- which is about as much time as I care to spend on the subject. It has a 3.7L V6 from the liberty as well - again - not WRC legal stuff here . . .

How hard is it to say: "Yes I am wrong - Yes I dont know what im talking about." Everyone has to do it, I have - I dont know everything there is to know, I ahve to eat my words once in a while. Grow up, realize you are not going to be the most knowledgable and learn from those who will teach you, that is agood start and one I try to practice.
The Delorean was NOT BASED OF A LOTUS! get that through your head. Unless I see or hear it from the word of Mr delorean himself - or the head engineer at lotus this is FACT! If it is proved to be otherwise I will eat my words like I asked you to do above; fair is fair. But Delorean doesnt say anything these days, and neither does colin chapman, and most of the lotus guys are long gone.
I agree - you raise a few valid points - BUT - you try to establish the truth of your whole argument on a few points, then get mad when the rest of your argument it brought to light.
Dont take this as a personal attack- that is far from my intent. I am just saying that you need to learn a bit more about things before you post them up as fact. Facts require proof, not misc links from unverified sources. This is a basic concept of an albiet substancially flawed scientific theory. Take the wealth of knowledge that the net and specific people on it can offer, expound upon it and better it. That was the original intent of the internet, and a great one for me as well.

Now that's the kind of reply I like to read. Because you put it so eloquently, I will take what you said to mind.
However, the Compass that I was speaking of was the Jeep version of the new Caliber. It is kinda like an wagon form of an EVO with Jeep styling. It'll be cool, I promise you!

this is an opportunity to Ford to control nearlyall WRC marketing. image a factory-backed effort supporting the Ford Focus, Mazda 3, and Volvo S40 cars. With similar hardware it would really be up to the teams/drivers to make the competition exciting.
In fact, VW could do something similar with the Audi A3, VW GTI, and SEAT Ibiza Cupra.
Throw the Subaru WRX and Dodge SRT4 in the mix for some variety and you could have a very good season.
