i've noticed a slide in WRC this year as their time slots on Speed have sucked! i can't imaging sponsors are as excited to show their labels on American TV at 230 AM.

Well the problem with Speed is that its owned by Nascar now, hence why its 90% Nascar shows and 10% racing thats interesting.
I did happen to catch a little V8 touring car racing the other night, good god the Falcon is schweet!
Back on topic, that sucks about the WRC, its always been my favorite series. I kind agree with Stazi about Mitsu and the financial problems, but I couldnt imagine all but two teams pulling out! I wonder what the hell is going on?

How can they possibly continue with two competitors? Maybe it's a planned coup to force a change from FIA?
That will change quickly...
very soon there will be factory sponsered teams from both Dodge and Jeep divisions. Both will be running the same next-gen Lancer platform in their cars, Caliber and Compass, respectively. The engineering guys from Mitsu are heading next door to the Mopar guys, where they will be helping the new teams be the best they possibly can. Expect both new factory vehicles to be phenomenal.
So really, the WRC isn't screwed as badly as most of ya'll think. Besides, who needs Skoda and Citroen anyway? I know I don't want a friggin Citroen!

Some more WRC news regarding next year's Pugs.. Originally posted by WRC: Henning Solberg will join Manfred Stohl in a two-car OMV-backed assault on the 2006 World Rally Championship in Bozian Racing-run Peugeot 307s. The OMV Peugeot Norway World Rally Team will field two cars in 12 rounds of the WRC and a single car of Stohl in one additional rally.
Stohl was the most successful privateer driver in the 2005 WRC, finishing ninth in the points and twice taking podium finishes in an OMV-backed Kronos Racing Citroen Xsara, while Solberg was 14th in the points with a best finish of fourth in Cyprus in his M-Sport Ford Focus. The combination represents an extremely strong team with a realistic chance of success.
Team manager Jacky Bozian commented: "This is a great project for us. We want to win the ranking of the Manufacturer 2 class with these pilots and our team. That is no illusion but a realistic goal." Bozian Racing has been closely linked to Peugeot Sport for many years and has frequently run satellite, 'semi-works' Peugeot teams. It will be supported throughout the 2006 season by Peugeot personnel.
Both cars will contest the rounds in Monte Carlo, Sweden, Mexico, Argentina, Italy, Greece, Finland, Cyprus, Turkey, Australia, New Zealand and Great Britain, with Stohl also competing in Germany.
