Lowering a Contour isn't a very bright thing do to. You run out of bump travel in a hurry, and nothing is going to make it look cool. Tell him to get a Civic or learn to live with a "boring" car.

I don't agree with that. Nothing wrong with proper lowering.

Instead of starting a new post I'll try this one. What do you guys think about the B&G Autobahn springs? I want to go low mainly for looks because I HATE that front wheel gap, but I do like to take the twisties pretty fast and do autocrosses when I can. At first I was going to go with ground controls but I didn't like the fact of voiding my koni warranty.

Not really. Some people enjoy a good looking car over the best performing. But lowering for both looks and performance can be done. I know you're not saying our cars are best at stock height.

My car is lowered. It looks better and handles better. I don't see the problem here.

I would recomend not using the stock struts.... I have a 95' tour dropped 2.25" and when it had 130,000 miles on it I put GC coilovers on the stock struts - they lasted for about 20,000 miles without excessive bounce or handling issues.... NOW is a different issue - I have strut leaking, 6 clunking noises when turning from right to left, bouncing like you wouldn't believe, gone through bearings as often as I change my underwear, and now I have to replace at least the struts, if not the entire setup.... just my $.02 - You do it cheap, you will have to do it again. BUT IT LOOKS GREAT!

I would have to go with kremit. It does look better with a 1-inch drop (more even better) and makes it handle so much more, hell of a lot less body roll..

To say it's not a bright thing to do..... I think you slapped alot of people in the face lol

I got ground control coilovers and Koni Struts. Cost a bit but was worth it. I wouldnt mind some airbags but I'm lazy.

GC are know for that. To prevent the grind/turning noise you should lude/grease your bearing often. As far as the bouncing I say its "stiff suspension." Ha Ha
