Carter simply bought his. Seriously, what did Carter do to earn that thing? (* crickets.... *)

Carter Brokered the Iran Hostage release, The Camp David Accords, Habitat for Humanity, the W.H.O., Promotion of AIDS awarness, A leader of the movement to immunize children in undeveloped countries..., and more.

Yes, Carter was an ineffective President, however, he was not awarded the Nobel Prize for being President; he was awarded for all these other things.

It can be argued that fear of Reagan freed the hostages.

What has become of the Camp David Accords?

Many have given time & noteriety to Habitat, not just Carter. Why single him out for this one? Same with aids awareness and imunization efforts around the world. I don't know enough about the World Health Organization to comment on it.

Seriously, I wonder who else was up for nomination the year the Carter was awarded this....

I will give in on one point. I do believe that Carter was sincere in his compassion & caring.

Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.
