So I bought the phone today. Great phone, but mild service. Already have friends telling me I sounded better on my Toshiba VM4050 from Sprint. What I would want for service is going to cost me way too much compared to my Sprint service. I went ahead and got a new number and signed a contract with T-mobile. They give you 14 days to try them out, if you dont like what your buying you have the ability to cancel and have your money refunded. I'll be going that route, especially with some of your guys' advice, I realize there are better options. Overall, I am glad I did it, you dont know what it's like if you dont try it. Now I just hope ending the contract and getting my money back in a reasonable amount of time isnt too much of a hassle.

I think the correct term would be "tugging at my sack". Just FYI.

i'm gonna do the same thing. sprint for years and great service but i dont get service in my damn house. plus i want to switch to gsm phones so i can swap out sim cards for different phones. i'm gonna sign up for tmobile and cingular. i was gonna try the t809 but the no voicedialing hurts and i want to compare the service so i'll get a razor or the new nokia flip phone and pick the company that has better service in my house. the slider are interesting but i still would get nervous about the screen be exposed in my pocket to keys and stuff.

hows the speakerphone on the t809? next fone has to be a full duplex speakerphone. i've come to hate my sanyo 5500. speakerphone is pretty much worthless and been having battery/charging issues for months. too lazy to have a sprint tech look at it.

Speaker phone is great. Couple things I dont like about the phone already. I believe you can only have 9 speed dial numbers, 1 being voicemail. And there isnt a fast way to scroll by pages in your phone book, not to meantion only three names (with numbers) display in your phone book at once. I could be wrong on all of these obviously, this is just what I have figured out.

Screen is quite possibly the best one I have ever seen, and the ship the phone with a USB cable which is nice. I dont know how many phone do that nowadays.

There is a handsfree unit you can buy that plugs into your phone thats basically a bulky-ass phone as a joke. I forget the actual style phone it was.

That's why you get a belt clip holster. I had a sony ericsson t637 but now have a flip phone because verizon doesn't offer any nice bar style phones. I'd much rather have the bar style. Flipping the phone open is just extra work and something else to break.
