I've noticed for the past 3 days my car making a weird noise while accelerating up to about 30mph. It sounds like the familiar "whomp whomp whomp" of a flat tire, but then disappears after about 30 mph. At speeds over 35 or so, I can hear something coming from the rear which sounds like a bad bearing....similar to a large vehicle with off-road tires driving on pavement. I've had it in a parking lot doing circles to see if I could hear any clicking/popping from the cv axle, and I didn't hear anything at all other than that 'whomp whomp whomp" sound. When turning to the right the sound remains...when turning to the left it disappears. Ah! Wheel bearing I thought. I jacked it up a little bit ago and checked the driver's side.....No play..no wobble. Same thing with the Passenger side. I jacked up the rear and checked there too....no play at all. I'm totally confused on this one. I've had cars have bearings go out and it was pretty easy to pinpoint it. But on this one, its really giving me a run for my money. 2 different noises sounding like they come from 2 different ends of the car LOL! Any advice on this one?
