I had the same problem; you couldn't hear the washer motor making noise at all. Turns out my washer fluid motor split vertically down the middle and rusted. I don't have a pic of the split itself, but the rust was so bad that the top of the motor fell apart when we tried disconnecting the wire:
Replacement from Autozone and some wire crimping (the replacement didn't use a connector) and all was well again. I suspect some water had gotten in a weak spot and turned into ice, splitting the housing and eventually rusting the motor.
