What are the chances of two steering racks failing in the EXACT same place? I replaced my original one because it was leaking from one of the seals, I got a reman one and installed it got everything bolted back together, added fluid and started it up. It leaks from the SAME spot.

I'm wondering if I would be better off just buying a brand new unit from Ford, or trying to get a different rack from Napa? Or maybe even hit up a junk yard.

Another question...Is there some special way to install the rack?

Where is it leaking? Was it filling up the rubber boot with fluid? You certainly can return the bad rack.

The original was filling up the boots as well as leaking from the seal on the bottom. This one is leaking just from the seal on the bottom.
