To all who are 'dying inside', never going to achieve, want to rip him off:
1. Grow up. 2. Have faith in yourself. 3. Approach life not an "I can't because attitude," but rather a "I can if" attitude. 4. Hard work and perseverance will take you a long way. 5. Confidence is key. If you lack it, you know why, so change it. 6. See #4 again. 7. Woory more about your own performance than that of others. 8. Whatever you do, do it as quickly as possible and to very best of your ability.
Between periods of lucidity (USMC, 4 out of 6 years in college), I spent too long growing up (read partied too much), and came late to the real life on few things. I was unhappy and it affected my life and those around me. Stress was out of control.
Look at life like eating an elephant - one bite at a time. And finally, be happy with what you do have. If you have health you're doing well. If you have family, you're doing very well. If you have friends, Family and health you have no excuses.
No one asked, but as someone on the wrong side of 35, I think the above is good advice. I learned it I learned the difficult way.

I agree with above statement 100%.
A friend of mine told me something that has really stuck in my head ever since. Me and my friend were at a local car show, showing off his '92 Firebird Convertible we had just fixed up to "almost new" condition. After a while, a guy in a blood-red '70 or so Corvette shows up. As me and my friend ogle over the car (which was about 90% restored), we showed him the Firebird. The dude asks me where my car is, and I told him I don't even own my own car, and that I'd never have something like the Firebird or his Corvette. He told me, "Don't worry kid, you'll get yours eventually, and it'll be a lot nicer than this 350 Corvette or that V6 Firebird over there. Yours is gonna be famous." And he left us there. I'll always believe what he said. It's kept me going ever since.

I want someone to remember me like that. One day, I'll walk up to a little kid eating ice cream and SMASH it out of his hands. "YOU WILL REMEMBER ME FOREVER!!!" I'll say while looking him straight in the eyes. From then on I will be a part of that person's life. is it like that??

Actually Austin TX is home to many of the dotcommer's. There are some VERY wealthy people there. The guy that invented doom lives not too far from my parent's house...and man is he building something spectacular as a home...I have pics if you're interested. Like I said...I believe I have seen that house before.

Trapps, I agree with you 100%. I think a lot of it, for us young'ns anyway, is perception. I'm up to my ears in debt from college and loans, and I still have a semester to go. But, I sincerely believe that after a few years of working, I'll be fine, and further down, I can probably pick up a car like one of those as a fun weekend cruiser (actually, my dream car would be the K1 Attack). Sometimes its just hard for us to look past the immediate future, and to remember that it takes most people years to build up that kind of wealth. You know, aside from untalented pop stars.
