ed how many miles does your car have? double check the belt. the dealer where my brother got his car put the belt on wrong when we first looked at the car. there was a funny noise so they said they'd check it out before we even bought the car. they looped it wrong and it wouldnt surprise me if the alt burned out becuz of it. had so much belt pulling on the pulley. but its doable to do yourself. but your a giant compared to me so small hands helped very much for this job.
