Prepping it aint hard if you just want to do a color change. Its the actual paint laying and body repair that takes the major talent (and equipment) If you really want to do it the cheap way do as Brad said and take an autobody class. Get in good with the teacher, maybe you can use his paint booth and compressors. I used to work at an auto body shop (not actually doing anything but prepping) and ill tell you spraying aint easy!
