Do you really think they offer extended warranties because most products break? Nope. It's another money generating scheme. If there is a real concern about your piece of electronics breaking, then save the money for that rainy day. Out of all of the electronic components I own, I would have lost money if I would have bought extended warranties. I have a Mitsubishi 55 inch diamond series TV. Owned it for three years and it has been trouble free. I would recommend it to anyone. Excellent HDTV. The cost of the warranty would be more than the cost of a single repair. I'd be willing to bet that if one was able to look at the books, Best Buy, Circuit City etc are cleaning up on extended warranties. And why? Because these places are betting on the fact that the electronics are a lot more reliable than they lead the consumer to believe.
