A friend has a 44" Zenith LCD projection TV he bought from Best Buy a little over two years ago (August 2004). The bulb hasn't gone, but he's had a host of problems with it otherwise. There were a few light spots he noticed last summer, so he called up BB and they sent a moron out to fix it. This 'tech' fixed two of the three light spots, created another, and somehow misaligned the picture (it's not just one way all the time, it's slanted one way when using one input, slanted another way when using a different input, etc.). Same moron came back a few more times and keeps saying he needs to order more parts. It's always a 4-6 week interval between the time my friend calls up BB and the time this guy shows up, and my friend is sorely wishing he could just ship the TV to Zenith and have them fix it.
TV works great if not for this guy 'fixing' it and creating more problems as he goes along. I do recommend having the warranty for it though, they are certainly not as reliable as good old 27" CRTs.
My 2c.
