I am planning on getting the headers I won a while back installed this weekend. I got some guidance from Jed in regards to the modifications I need to make, you will find that below:
One thing you should know about the headers though. I notice that you have a 2000 CSVT. You will have to add two O2 sensor bungs to these headers to use them. You will also have to buy / make MIL eliminators.
Your car has O2 sensors before and after the precats. I ordered these for an early model car that only had O2 sensors before the precats and did not require MIL eliminators.
"These headers will fit your car perfectly in every other way.
You might wonder: Do I need to install the after precat O2 sensors at all? (since you obviously wonâ??t have precats). Well you do. MIL eliminators are only designed to modify the after precat O2 sensor signals â??? not replace them altogether. Running your car without the â??after precatâ? O2 sensors will result in a constant CEL light. "
Does anybody have any idea of exactly where I should install the exhaust bung/MIL eliminators
Thanks for any help

I would try to mount them as close as possible to where the stock ones were so that you don't have problems with wire length.

Find pictures of MSDS headers or Weapon R headers and it will be easier to visualize where the lower O2 bungs are usually located. I know Stazi posted some detailed comparison pictures a while back.
For a small fee, Marty of MSDS will add the lower O2 bungs to your headers for you â??? of course then you will have shipping costs.
Welding the O2 bungs will damage the header coating to some extent â??? you might want to consider having them recoated afterward. At least use high temperature exhaust paint intended for headers.
The end result is worth it! Your headers will increase the overall useable power of your engine more then any other bolt on option available and will increase the effectiveness of every other power modification you make. Just make sure to leave your battery unplugged for a good long time before driving it the first time (to reset the computer).
Hey Aspire, I'm still around! I am seriously thinking about getting back into the hobby with a low mileage unmodified 99 or 2000 SVT. Some Florida retireeâ??s weekend driver would be nice. I am patient and picky and am looking for a garaged car with around 20K miles or less. Closest thing to buying a new one.

In the collector. Then although the signal is damped when using MIL eliminators, it still gives good information with on the engine banks air fuel performance.
The collector is also the area that has enough room where you are guaranteed not to mess with the exhaust flow.
Spray the area with thermotec heat coating, it works wonders and I think works just as well as the basic ceramic coating that MSDS used to use.

JED,
Great to hear you are still around. You are probably thinking this guy gets a free set of headers and hasnt even installed them yet? Awe my excuse is that I am really busy with work and my Tour is my daily driver.
I am sure I will be even more appreciative after tomorrows intall!
Let me summarize:
I have two MIL eliminators. I need to intall one extra exhaust bung/MIL Eliminator and the other one should already have a exhaust Bung
Is this correct?

Ummm.....No. But I may be misunderstanding you.
There are four O2 sensor bungs in total (two on each header). You are missing the lower o2 sensor bung on each header. I urge you to search out some pictures of MSDS or WeaponR headers and this will become very clear. The MIL eliminators are wired in series with the lower O2 Sensors.
Aspire, I fully understand the problems involved in finding hobby time! Good luck with your install - make sure you have an extensive selection of hand tools before starting this (extensions, universal joints etc.). Loosening the exhaust manifold bolts is really challenging.

Oh man, you are right! The sad thing is that I've actually installed these before... should have taken my own advice on the pictures. Thanks tour96!
