lmao
Actually, a dude I used to know was powershifting my car because he forgot it wasn't manumatic/automatic like his. Yeh, wasn't too happy botu it but only "shifted" once until I b!tched so it's cool.
I still have the chip. Always have- for two years.
I'd love to get it tuned, but I have my last mod to throw on yet. Maybe sometime before SZ'06 for the dyno runs..

Somehow,I don't think SVT owners are going to like that statement much
I don't see anything wrong with it. An SVT is about a 1/2 second faster in the quarter mile. Making most of that time past half track. (Where acceleration "feels" the slowest)
Acceleration wise a half a second for 15 second cars is not a huge difference in performance. The SVT would show more of an advantage in a road or track racing environment where it's higher average powerband would shine through. Still we're not talking a huge difference though.
2000 SVT #674
13.47 @ 102 - All Motor!
It was not broke; Yet I fixed it anyway.

I was not by any means putting down the SVT or saying that my car is faster. In the past two weeks I have test drove two SVT's. One 98 and one 2000. Both appeared to be roached on... And not taken care of as I would take care of a car. Everything stock on both of them. Prolly NO UIM/LIM cleaning or even any maitnence of any sort. No records/documents of any upkeep for the cars at all. The 98 did have some sort of an exhaust done to it. I had NEVER driven a SVT before the past couple of weeks. When I took of in the 2000 (first one i drove) I was really let down. I understand that my car is rated at 170hp and that the svt is rated at 200hp which is a 30hp difference. And I have done extensive upkeep to my car. Uim/Lim cleaning, new fuel filter, syn oil (royal purple all the way!) All new radiator hoses, intake, makeshift exhaust ect. And that the SVT's were never touched before. Both under 75 thousand miles I just though that the SVT was going to be a different animal... I also never realized until i was in a SVT what they had done with the interior. The SVT seats are bada$$ but the dash and everything is nothing to write home about. Especially since the 2000 SVT had such bad dash warp... I just wanted to know what would give me the most power results between a AD CHIP or s trubenz dual exhaust. I do not plan on modding my car anymore. I would love to throw headers on my car but its just simply going to be to much of a pain in the rear to get the manifolds off. I hope I did not affend anyone that owns a rare, limited #, sexy SVT because I really wish I had one. And to anyone that is on Contour.org you guys have been so much Help for my car and I really apprietiate that. We need to get another group meet going this summer!!! Then you guys with SVT's can laugh at how slow my car is on the track! HAH! Regards, Dave Franz

its not really a big deal dave. Sometimes with the svt you'll find a slug that is kinda disapointing, for example my friend deric has a 98 before my engine swap i could run with him all day, a few years ago i had another friend with a 99..past second gear there wasnt a chance in hell i could keep up with him. i guess thats true for anycar, there was this kid around here that had a 95 v6 5spd gl,only thing done was a glasspack muffler and apc filter, here i am with all the svt manifolds,tb,true dauls, open intake,chip.....and even with three people in his car he could beat me..i guess i got off topic a bit

I thought you had a decent amount of mods on that car: intake/exhaust, headers, etc.

Haha! Get it to the track to really find out!
A manual Zetec runs what, high 16, low 17 right??
My car ran a 16.4 @85mph stock...
Bill, your car should be quicker than mine... At least without the chip...
