Just checked my maintenance booklet. Only needs an oil change every 2 yrs or 24,000 km. Yay!

It's a shame I've been banned from that message board (revscene.net) for blasting idiots like that. What f'ing dumb idiot doesn't change the oil OR filter in 3 years LMAO !

The best part is before I was banned, he was slamming Contour SVT's and talked about how his Jag X-Type was so much better ROFL.

I would never buy a porsche just so that I won't be lumped in with that crowd.

Yeah, judging all owners of a particular vehicle based on an online forum is REAL intelligent

No, he's got one -- proved it with pictures and [censored].

Yeah yeah I'm stereotyping, but seriously in Vancouver everybody who's got a porsche drives one for the status symbol and carry around like their [censored] doesn't stink. Real ballin' with your base model carerra's and boxsters.

I know how ya feel, but a Porsche (even the base model) is still a Porsche. What you do is, go get you an old Corvette, leather it out, soup it up, and then race him at a track. Then tell him he ain't got squat.

I'd have no issues buying a Porsche if I had the money lying about. Having ridden in a few, I find most of them very dreamy cars.

I find the latest Boxster S a particularly delicious drop-top, but I'd certainly have to jump into the next tax-bracket to justify the money dropped on a joyride like that...

I do recall that some models do have longer than normal drain/filter change intervals due to the oil system capacity, but if you're driving the s**t out of the car, then one should adjust accordingly.

The gent did sould like an "infomercial", though.

Yeah, that's what I got from the dude too. You know, very few times have I fallen completely in love with a car, but I finally did when I rode in my first Porsche. It was a 996-style 911 GT2. Pure Sex. Me and my friend went down the track in 12.8 in the quarter mile. The whole car was extraordinarily well built, the seats were uber-comfy, and the engine howled just the way I like it. *spooge*

I dunno, I test drove a '95 Carrera 'vert, 1-owner only 35K miles. And well, I just didn't like it enough. While Porsches are designed for daily driving the car just didn't suit me right.

The new water cooled 911's are a lot more friendly but I'll never own a Boxster or ever contemplate owning one.

A new one yeah. A friend has a base 944 and I'd rather drive a civic than it.
