Just thought some one else may wan't to do a mod like this. I got 2 complete headlights from 2000 Audi A6 off E-Bay, these have the ballasts hooked to side of housing. I paid $350 inc. shipping. I prefferd this method because by using the entire projector assembly you get an incredibly sharp horizontal cutoff and a better beam pattern. I have never seen the 9006 "kit" installed but by using a the projectors i got the cut-off I wanted. The install was the most difficult thing I have ever done! I had to take clear lense off light, cut lens, cut out back of light, cut inside car(mounts), and seal it all up when done. not fun but have the lights i wanted. and these are the 4300k so i like the pure totally white light. let me know your comments!

that's really cool. I've been considering the 9006 HID upgrade on and off; the only thing holding me back is that the stock pattern sucks. Looks like you found a solution, though I don't think I have to guts to chop up my headlamps like that. I bet HIDs would look great with those projectors.

Can you post some closeups of the backside of the assembly?
