Ok, ok, ok.... your not gonna believe this. Last night I just installed a 512mb stick of kingston I bought from best buy during their online turkey day specials. I hadent thought that that would cause this type of problem, and I never got any beep codes. But low n' behold I took it out and the PC booted right up like nothing ever happened. I just got a little message stating that the computer had recovered from a serious error. But I checked everything out, ran a few programs and it works just fine. I even checked the sys\config file and its right there in the windows folder.

Heh... guess Im going by best buy on my way home from work tomorrow.

If your wondering... It worked fine all last night after I installed the mem. Its the same size and speed as the existing ram, just a different brand.

Does Kingston ram not play well with others or something? Or is it just bad memory? Should I try to exchange it for a different brand? Ive never heard of the brand of mem thats in there now. I bought it cause it was cheap and it works. Its just got Azn characters on it. Nothing in english. Probably translates into "Happy Super Funtime Memory"
