Hey guys... Tonight I got home, sat in front of my computer and noticed this message.
"windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:
windows\system32\config\system
you can attempt to repair this file by starting windows setup using the origional cd-rom
select 'r' at the first screen to start repair"
So thats what I tried to do. But when I try to start windows with the disc it freezes on a blue screen with "windows setup" at the top and a white bar at the bottom.
I have nothing important on this HD so I dont mind wiping everything out. But I dont know any other way to do that other than using the CD wich freezes up while its loading.
I know the disc is good because I just used it last night on a friends computer. Its WinXP Pro by the way.
Its a new computer that I just built a couple weeks ago. Here are the basic specs... if they help.
AMD64 3200
1GB DDR PC3200
Main HD 40GB... for OS only
Second HD 80GB... for music
Third HD 200GB... for movies and vids
DVD-RW All in one drive
