Also, since i've got the flywheel lightened, 1st gear is a blast. A short blast, but a blast. Under full acceleration the tires are usually spinning towards the end, followed by spinnage in second, and depending on whether or not i'm lucky and whether i want to beat on the car a bark in third.
WOW mine basically shuts down in the cold. It will start in -25 or -30, but thats the only good winter thing. It looses tons of power and mpg when it starts to dip below 20. the power is about cut in half at -20. and the suspension stiffens up tons so it feels like a radio flyer wagon being pulled by a 3rd grader.

well, i mnot talking about -20 degrees!!! but once the engine is warm i never noticed any loss of performance anyway. The suspension does squeak though.

Reminds me of teh first time in my car (I test drove a different car) that I experienced teh secondaries. Some arse was doing 10 mph and I went to pass in 2nd gear. The pedal hit the floor and liek was said, I don't think I stopped smiling the rest of the day!
Now driving the truck every day, I put the pedal to teh floor, count to 3 or 4 then get a little power , downshift then a bit more. I miss downshifitng and having power on tap.

Surprise surprise! I stomped, and he ended up in my rear view mirror
COOL!
[I don't plan on doing that again unless it's quiet, but it was fun anyway.. good thing there was plenty of space! ]
But yeah, you guys ever get surprised how peppy your car can be?
First time I went on a road trip... it was a 200 mile trip, by 160 miles, my gas gauge had JUST passed the 3/4 mark. Nothing like awesome gas mileage, and a really comfertable car to travel in.. Too bad I dont have cruise control.
That just makes me pissed off at the crappy gas gauge. After filling up, I have to drive 80-100 miles before the gauge even goes below the full mark.

To other day I was getting out of the body shop 3 weeks after being hit in a parking lot (hit and run). The rear bumper had been damaged but they repaired it and it looked like a new one. Anyways, the only way out of the shop was a nasty little street full of snow covered ice. Since I was on my 225 Bfg kdw's, I knew I had to be extra carefull. Well, I had quite a surprise when I noticed that I had absolutely zero traction and couldn't stop going at about 5 km/h. I slid for like 15 meters and hit a car going across the intersection when I had almost stopped. My SVT has a small scratch on the front bumper but I did a very big and long dent to the side of the Toyota Matrix I hit. What sucks is that I was going home to install my winter tires that I couldn't install before because my car was in the damn body shop . And it started snowing the day before I got my car back. Oh well, it's always nice to have a big bump in insurances premiums before christmas... And btw, never ever drive kdw's in the snow...

My car does not surprise me much anymore, it does surprise other people tho. My one friend thought it had a v6 in it. One day I was just cruising down the road with the window down, and at a light (heavy traffic so we couldn't do anything) a guy I work with was in his Mistu Mirage, and his cousin was with him, he pulls up to me and says, "hey that all your car has" and laughs I knew he was just picking on me just joking. So I let the car in front of me get a little of a head start and I just nailed it and she opened up and I let off and later that night at work the one that drives the Mirage he told me my car was pretty quick. I think it's slow myself lol. I got my car in the end of summer of 02 and I was just getting used to driving it, that spring I just got the urge to start hitting the gas pedal repeatedly going down the road, and sometimes I would get a chirp from the drive wheel, I thought wtf. Then one day I finally realized what I was doing, I found out how to chirp my drive wheel into 2nd gear with only using the gas pedal. That surprised the heck out of me. I didn't know a 4cyl ATX could chirp the drive wheel into 2nd gear.

I guess the car never surprises me. The first time I rode in my friend's dad's 2000 black/black SVT I was surprised. I expect to hit 90 before the end of onramps.
