I was searching for a svt and found one for sale on autotrader through some small time dealership. The info for the car says "floorroom condition" on autotrader. So, i go check it out and I must say I was not impressed with that svt. It had reverse lock out???? My 95 has reverse lockout. I wonder if the tranny was changed? The dash was warped so bad, and their was scratches and pings all over the car. The car only has 68k on it... The guy that moved it off the lot had to drive it down this small incline with rock gravel (because of were the car was parked) and scrached the heck out of the svt front bumper. So, I knew i was not going to buy this car but i took it for a spin anyways. Overall the top end is better on the svt but my car seems to be almost as fast as THAT svt. Under the hood the car was dirty but not too bad. THe interior besides the dashwarp was nice. I really did some spirted driving with that svt and I must say I am happy with my car. Its the front and rear bumpers on the SVT that make them so damn Sexy. I should just throw them on my 95... I do not like what for did with the dash for the newer contours. On top of that the dash warp is horrible! They should of stuck with the pre98 dashes!

Yeah, all SVT's came with a reverse lock out. I pulled mine off though when I chopped my shifter.

Well that answers that question. It was a shame to see such a beautiful car is not so "showroom" condition... It was far from it. If you guys could of only of seen when that front bumper scraped against gravel and rock. It was NOT a pretty site...

Certainly don't make a lasting impression of of THAT example.
Drive a few more.. ones that really ARE taken care of (INCLUDING UIM/LIM cleaning..)

Very sad to hear that the CSVT was taken so badly care of. I will second you on what makes the CSVT so sexy is the front and back bumper. But I also like the "performance" myself. My bro is now looking for a CSVT. I cant cause of the 95 stang I just bought. But with time I will pick one up!

I like the SVTs because of the blue interior Wish they had kept the spacy dashboard the 95-97s had (I think the taurus team got jealous and decided to redo the dash), methinks the newer one looked more outdated than the old one, but oh well, it aint that bad
