The 302 was a factory "stroker", 283 block w/ 327 internals. I think the 307 was just something they slapped together, why I don't know As you know the 302 was only used in the Z/28's for SCCA racing, the 5 liter limit. BTW, Chevrolet didn't make the motors for anyone elses rides but their own back in the day, the way it should be. Everyone had a 350 back then, Pontiac had one in the 70's, Buick had one in the late 60's/early 70's, Olds had one from the mid 70's till the 80's and Chevrolets 350 came out in 1967. The same held true for the 400's, they came out in 1967 and Olds, Buick and Pontiac all had em and they were perf motors for the 442, GTO and GS. Chevrolets 400 didn't come out till 1970 and wasn't a perf motor, pity
