My point is that the current LS-7 in the ZO6 doesn't look any different than the LS-2 in the previous one, its all about whats inside, kinda like people

-262, 265, 267, 283, 302, 307, 327, 350, 383 and 400

Scott, you got me on one but not the other The 307 is a production motor and I believe it came out in the late 60's, but the 383 ISN'T a production motor from GM. The 383 is a 350 block w/ a .030 bore and 400 crank/rods. I'm very upset that I forgot the 307 in the list, but then again, its easy to forget, just like I forgot the 305, or should I say, we BOTH forgot the 305 so lets completely update this for everyone out there who's looking for the "master list" of Chevrolet small block power

S/B's-262, 265, 267, 283, 302, 305, 307, 327, 350 and 400

B/B's-396, 402, 427, 454

"W"/B's-348 and 409

BTW Scott I notice you have a TTA, any mods to it, drop me a PM so I don't get flammed for talking about my old car in here

Roger, Yeah...I knew that about the 383 but you can buy a 383 crate motor from GM Performance though these days, 307 was early 70's IIRC we had a '72 Chevelle with the crapy 307 dog w/3-on-the-tree. I think it was a bored out 302 IIRC...kind of like when they took the 396 and bored it out in 1970 to make the 402 commonly found in some Chevelle wagons.

The BB weren't left out since the dicussion was about Chevy SB's'

Yeah the TTA is one of my all time dream cars...aquired it last May. It was all original paint and all w/45K on the clock, garage kept since new and never driven in the winter and very little rain. Only mods so far are Scanmaster 2.1 for data logging and a 3" Aluminum MAF Pipe with a Big a$$ K&N Extreme Flow conical filter on the end. Realy woke it up...probably good for another 50hp I'll PM you to talk some more about it. Some pic's here web page
