The Mustang actaully had a quad shock solid axle which still pretty bad. The IRS in the Cobra was not much better.

Ohh not on this board. I never bad mouthed the new vette. im sure i would bust a nut if i ever had a chance to drive one, BUT its just not my bag. And for 25k i can buy a low milage 03 cobra, drop 2k on pulley, exaust, intake, dyno tune. and bust a 500whp nut all over a non zo6 c6, and still have money for insurance. I also think another big reason id pick a cobra is. In san diego you can drive 20 miles in any direction and see 15 c5's and 6 c6's Every other day i would see a zo6's. But i only saw an 03/04 cobra maybe ounce a month. That doesnt make a vette a bad car, Hell its gm's nicest ride. Its just not my PERSONAL PREFERENCE. Burn me at the stake.

hold on. You're telling me you would rather have a mustang with a blower over a purpose-built sports car? Your choice I guess...

I don't buy arguments against the Corvette's rear suspension layout. It works, end of story. Yes another system might work as well, or possibly a smidge better, but that doesn't mean it's right for the car.
It's not like the engine being behind the rear wheels on a 911 is the best system either. But that works too, even though it goes against most automotive engineering principles.

Now obviously these guys are way bias. But dude did buy a ford gt(so he doesnt hate american cars that bad) He did return it later though. Now im not saying the new c6 isnt the best handling vet ever, I just think it time to ditch the Leafs.
Again, explain why the leafs need to go. You haven't so far...neither do the guys from Top Gear. They make a big stink how its old and "like my tractor", but never bring any tech. Niehter do you, your just regurgitating the same un-informed bias you heard elsewere. You are aware that the "leafsprings" on the vette have as much in common with a traditional leaf spring suspension as the Ford mod-moter has in common with the original flat-head v8, right? A composite transverse leaf spring used to provide spring damping to the wheels on an independant suspension may not be cutting edge, but it works...tremendously well. The Z06 (and all c6's for that matter) handle extremely well. Making blanket statements that leafsprings somehow make it less of a car are simply rediculous.
And before anyone on here calls me a GM fan-boy, Rara can vouch that its pretty far from the truth. My job just allows me to work with and drive the best products from the performance car world. I am not a Vette fan at all, but I won't knock the design or the performance at all.

My point is that the current LS-7 in the ZO6 doesn't look any different than the LS-2 in the previous one, its all about whats inside, kinda like people

Scott, you got me on one but not the other The 307 is a production motor and I believe it came out in the late 60's, but the 383 ISN'T a production motor from GM. The 383 is a 350 block w/ a .030 bore and 400 crank/rods. I'm very upset that I forgot the 307 in the list, but then again, its easy to forget, just like I forgot the 305, or should I say, we BOTH forgot the 305 so lets completely update this for everyone out there who's looking for the "master list" of Chevrolet small block power
S/B's-262, 265, 267, 283, 302, 305, 307, 327, 350 and 400
B/B's-396, 402, 427, 454
"W"/B's-348 and 409
BTW Scott I notice you have a TTA, any mods to it, drop me a PM so I don't get flammed for talking about my old car in here
