A stock svt is drag limited to 143 mph. Non svt's are governed at 112 mph.

How fast do you think a CSVT is? Who was racing that there wounldn't be even a chance of them winning? You do realize there are faster cars than CSVTs right? Before you jump down my throat I love CSVTs, but I know there are a lot faster cars on the street. Is my SE faster than a CSVT? No, but I am sure my 91 GTI is faster than most. There will always be someone faster than you. Oh and street racing is stupid.

Street racing is stupid. The main question was how do people feel when regular contiques kit there cars. I just threw in the racing part to get the topic started.

I'll probably get a troutslap for this posting, but I don't think it matters all that much. Unless your dragging someone and you say your car is a svt and get smoked, etc.
Alot of smack talk, it is all show and the guy's so full of bs their eyes turn brown...you get the point. put up or shut up, in my words.
I have a svt front clip on my 1999 SE, because my wife wrecked my car, and it happened to be the color I needed, was in nice shape, and I got it for less money than i was going to pay for a diffent colored one I was going to have to paint.
Now, in the case of when in high school I had my 1988 GLS tempo 5 speed, with a mercury hood, a full custom dual exhaust on the 2.3, hand fabbed headers, lowered 4 inches, modded suspension and a wacked out paint job with custom bumpers, and fenders with "5.0" badges on the fenders, well, I was plain nuts when I did that. But, I still was able to have fun with it and smoke my share of stuff with it, after all who in the heck expected a Tempo?!? LOL
Fun part was, more than once, with the rims/tires I had, people thought I was running a 5.0...

I really dont care if anyone wants to slap a SVT badge on their tour [or cougar in my case]. because in the grand sceme of things, the difference is rather small.

I see fake snakes [cobras] every day, now thats a BIG performance gap. I dont mind seeing fake badged cars as long as the base and performance models dont differ in displacement or induction.

yes... I am a cougar owner trolling on your board.
