i suppose as long as it is done well, building a clone isn't a bad thing, as long as you state that its a clone and not the real thing.
Skunk has a rather nice clone, that he will tell you right out is not a real SVT.

i say do whatever you think will make your car looks its best. i think pre98 with svt kit look very nice. i think post 98 w/out the kit look kinda so i say add one if you can. as for streetracing, winning/losing...there are plenty of cars nowadays that would show up to a streetrace and spank a csvt, even if its somewhat built. the only chance it really has is adding FI, nitrous, or a 3L with some mods. and im talking about real streetracers, not just kids with civics with fartcans and intake. im hoping the 3L im building, with supporting parts, will be able to hold its own out there.

Well, I'll get bent out of shape if the supply of body parts disappears to the point that those of us with real ones won't be able to replace damaged pieces! Karl

Not that I have an svt badge on my car, but to the average joe, they see the svt bodykit and think its an svt. I could turn what you said around and say that SVT's give me a bad name because they make me look slow. It could go either way.

Certainly a beautiful car he's put together .. except he definitely has an SVT badge on the trunk ...
Overall I agree with kitting but not badging.
