That is the F1 Transmission. And cylinder count means nothing, you need to look at displacement. It may have four more cylinders than a Z06, but its 1L less displacement and pumps out over 150 more HP. Still think that's a little low?

-Todd

I know the HP is more than the normal hp range in 8 cylinders, but I would think that they would put more power into it cause you're spending a pretty penny to own one.

Besides if you compare displacement to cylinders use the Subaru WRX STI as an example. 300 hp on a 2.5 liter, sure it is turboed but put two of these engines together and looking at a 600 hp 5L 8-cylinder engine. Add another STI 4 banger and your looking at 900 hp at 7.5L 12-cylinder.

I'm just saying that they could more time to the engine. But hey, I would get a Ferrari if I had the money.

Hey KOOLAID! I'm pretty certain that Ferrari KNOWS how to build an engine.

Hey, I'm sorry I hurt anyones feelings about there opinion about an engine, but I think Ferrari can put more HP into there 12-cylinder if they took the time.

I know I can't drive stick and probly can't handle a V8 very well either. Its my opinion so (in Cartman's voice) "Screw you guys."

You do realize that you can't just get more hp by throwing money at it, right? And the Enzo gets 110hp/L while the STi gets 120hp/L. That's amazing for an NA car to get that close to a FI car. There is only so much air and fuel you can cram into a cylinder without FI, and the Enzo is very close to the limit. How exactly do you want them to do better? This is the pinnacle of street-car engineering.

Also, you end up with more power under the curve with an NA engine, and no spike as the boost comes on. A NA engine is easier to drive hard, because the power is linear. With a turbo'd car you have to modulate the throttle as you accelerate to keep things in balance. There is much more to cars than numbers, and you obviously have no understanding of that. Additionally, a turbo adds weight and complexity to the car, and is usually hurts reliability. I'm sure you would buy an Enzo if you have the money - and end up on wreckedexotics.com.

You're right. Ferrari did squeeze more outta that engine. The FXX version of the Enzo is putting out 800hp NA. It's not street legal though. Ultimate sex!

Three letters: FXX

It has 750 HP IIRC, and imagine if it had 3 turbos like your "Triple-STI-engine V12"

But it's not road legal - I'm sure there's no emissions controls, etc. And what octane does it run on?

Answer to first question: DUH!

Answer to second question: Maybe make a bigger displacement

There is much about cars I don't know, that is why I'm going to become a mechanical engineer. I don't think I would buy an Enzo, persay, just a Modena, of course this is with more than enough money.

-KJ

Edit: There is the answer to my better V12, the FXX. To bad it isn't street legal. Most likely w/ emissions like Auto-X said.

Edit #2: What is 6,262 cc in Liters?

What do you mean, Ferrari knows how to build an engine?! Just look at their dismal racing career! Uhm..., oh..., wait, nevermind, I guess they do know what they're doing.

There is more to a great car like a Ferrari and mere Horespower. It is more about Balance. A balance between power, weight and handling. Look at Lotus; low weight, and low power (compared to it's competitors), but many would not argue for more power.

Please tell me you weren't serious when asking this. I realize Highschool is boring, but did you fall asleep in EVERY science and some math classes from Kindergarten to graduation?

Now stay awake, the answer is below:

1,000 Cubic Centimeters equals 1 Cubic Liter. Therefore 6,262 cc equals 6.262 L.

Did you stay awake for that?
