There is a lot of confusion over this. There is also no easy way to tell which system the car has. I'm sure that sometimes there is some greed there, but sometimes the car must be programmed using the NGS or WDS and for some unknown reason using those tools seems to require about one hour of labor. When a Service Advisor doesn't know for sure what it is going to take, he must quote the higher price or deal with an irate customer whan it doesn't work as expected.

I also know that I programmed many that had the correct number of keys at no charge while the customer waited while the car was on the service drive. I wasn't the only one that did.
