i know this because I had to switch out the ignition key because my lock cylinder jamed and would not turn to the start possition from run, I got a used lock set and I was able to "program" the key when the instructions say you need a "unprogrammed" key

but it still follows that 98s need one key to program and later then that needs 2

and i think it is also a good idea to have a spare key in a safe place incase you get locked out or loose your keys as you will at least be able to get into the car

hey how can you program a different key that's already cut for a diff. lock set, i have a spare lock and key set, but just don't know how to program the keys to work with the pats system.

I put the "new" lock cylinder in the car and used it to engaged the ignition so that I could run through the programing procedture. TO put a new lock cylinder in you need to remove the PATs reader so when i went to program the "new" key I held the reader and one of the old keys away from the streering column, as far as the wires would let me, did the same for the second original key then held the reader to the "new" key to "program" it

basically follow the pats programing how to on the main site, and just move the PATs reader and keys around as needed
