how so? i went to the website and it seems to be adding a lot of multimedia functionality... And it's about time! only a decade or so behind Apple.

those are the widgets i leave active. on my HUD i also have a Yahoo maps and Yahoo search widget and a sports scores ticker. it takes about 20 MB of RAM to run the whole thing, but i'm going to upgrade to 1GB, so it won't matter much.

Yeah, I'm thinkin' I need to upgrade my RAM. Running only 2 widgets seemed to slow things down. I'll run 'em for a few days and see how things go. Maybe it was imagination...

BTW, is there a "Post-it" like widget? I'd love to have some post-it notes. The "notebook" isn't quite what I want.

I see no Vista. All I can see is XP with a different skin.

Konfabulator was running on my machine for a week or so until I realized that the weather widget was using 116mb of ram. Other widgets also tried to use as much, so I got rid of it. Even if it was just my machine, I feel no loss. There's already a clock in my tray, and i can look outside to see if it's snowing. So...it went the way of every other piece of desktop clutter I've tried.

Derk: I think the product that suits you is MS OneNote.

There are several Stickies programs for YahooWidget/Konfab. Check the Widget gallery.

Your weather uses 116 MB! Did you have real-time satellite images or something? My weather only moves the RAM counter one or 2 clicks. Even my Boston traffic camera only adds 3-4 MB to the program.

I use MiniWeather and it works fine. I just need the temp for my runs.

Well, I'm lovin' the stickies. The tree gods are thanking me for the reduced use of paper.

Here's a pic of my desktop - it's not cluttered, I have the minimal amount of crap running in the background (I googled the apps. running in the background to see if I could shut them off. I've turned off as many as I can using "Tune Up Utilities")

The little RAM meter says I'm using more than 50% of my RAM (512MB) at any given moment, 70-80% isn't uncommon. I'm definately feelin' the bog.

So I ordered 1024MB of RAM for my laptop.
