I'm surprised this hasn't been touched upon yet: Cunningham Resigns It looks like the greed bug bit him hard. Good riddance Mr. Cunningham; your service may be missed, but your corruption will not. What kills me is how he initially thought he could dodge suspicions; $160K a year DOES NOT bankroll a yacht, mansion, Rolls-Royce and a flat in suburban DC...

Jerseycat posted it, but the thread got locked. Apparently voicing out against the CEG Conservative entourage is prohibited.

Touched upon, locked, deleted. The manner in which it was presented could have been .... better.

The topic of "Duke" pleading guilty was touched on, but that thread's locked. Yes, both parties have had members bit by that disease.

The manner in which it was presented in the previous thread left much to be desired.
Cunningham deserves what he gets and he knows it, and he accepts it. From what I have seen, he is being a stand up guy in taking what he deserves for his part in the corruption.
Basically, he screwed up, and he knows he screwed up, and he's graciously taking the punishment for screwing up.

What a shame. Instead of being remembered as a war hero he'll be remembered as a crook. Though unfortunately, it's rightfully so. At least he was straight up about it and had a somewhat honorable downfall, if there is such a thing.

Agree. Hate to see that become the defining moment in his life, but he can only blame himself for poor judgement.
