Well the car was acting up this weekend again.
Took the tour to ford this morning a different ford dealer in fact and they want 3750 plus tax to fix the car. let us see
1) vacuum hoses 2) manifold leak 3) they charge 1550 for the wire harness with 22 hours of labor to install these parts.
The tech mentioned that I might as well get another car for that much money.

Thats ridiculous. Did they give you a diagnosis...or just say, "yea bud...uhm, your gonna need this and this at a grand total of this..." I still remember my last trip to the local dodge dealership, they told my cousin his Hemi powered Daytona Edition truck couldn't spin the tres because the spoiler on the back weighed it down to much....and they were serious.

hell if your gonna donate it, donate it to us contour freaks, otherwise the donation company will scrap a perfectly good car, and will make one less on the road. Restore, dont throw away, or sell it dirt cheap to one of us mechanics to fix, like im doing to the 96 I bought for dirt cheap

$3750 I think you should get a second opinion on that. There was a wire harness recall (older 1995-1997 I think) Or sell it outright, the tax deduction isn't much from donating. I have the impression most donated cars are auctioned, and some do get scrapped in the salvage yard. What problems are you having with your car?

That is until they find a real problem and then it begins to get expensive.
Avoid the dealer at all costs. They are theives.
For around $3000 you could have a much nicer vehicle.
