I'm actually not a horrible driver anymore but at the time I was not as good as I am now.
I also had worn out falken ziex 512s in 215/45 size. Traction was a huge problem.
I now have 235/45 and it is hooking up much better.
Now if I had drag radials then it might be a different story.
I've done all my runs on street tires of stock width. When I get to the track next, they will be on wider tires so I expect an improvement in times if al else remains equal
