Last night around 1:45 am, I got pulled over by a cop who said he clocked me going 52 in a 35 mph zone. I was taking my girlfriend home from my apartment, which is typically about a 35 minute drive. Most of the road has a 45 mph speed limit, except for one small section containing two schools which is 35 mph normally and 25 mph during school hours. People travel 55-60 on this road all the time, and I'm sure the only reason I got caught this time is because it was so late and I was the only person on the road. The football game traffic had already cleared up an hour or so earlier, and in fact that's why I was waiting until late to leave my place. Fortunately, the policeman was very nice and let me off with a warning!
I'm sure that had I been going 55, which would have been reckless driving (20 over) it would have turned out differently. This is only the 2nd time I've ever been pulled over, and luckily I have yet to get a ticket.
