1998.5 SVT. New fuel filter, plugs, and wires.

Strange problem. While driving normally, the engine will seemingly cut off for a split second.

It's only happened a couple of times, but I noticed the last time that the PATS LED came on during the cutoff.

The car of course bucks badly when this occurs, but only for a split second. Just enough to give a lurch.

My first thought was maybe the transponder in my ignition key?

Any other ideas?
