If you haven't read the whole thread, here is some great advice from one of our beloved CEGers...:

First....CONGRATS on trying!!!!!! That is an awesome first step!! I smoked for almost 10 years (ranging in that time period between a half a pack a day up to 2 packs a day depending on whether it was the weekend or a holiday).

I haven't had on in a year and a half....believe me....there have been times I have wanted to have one SO BAD...I woulda given my big toe for one! But then I remembered what all I had been thru to get to where I am...

When I quit, I had recently moved...so new place...no "gucky" smoke smell anymore...washed all my stuff so I could start fresh...w/in a few days I noticed if I smelled someone after they had smoked it gagged me and I couldn't believe that I used to smell like that!! Then I noticed I could laugh w/out coughing! (Major deal for me!)...I have been sick 2 times since I quit...both minor deals...not like the 10+ times a year I would get bronchitis, cold, etc..when I smoked.

Keep straws around to hold and put in your mouth..helps...trust me! You can do this!!!!!!!!!!! Good luck!!!!

Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.

Keep it up! You can do it! Straws, gum, and keeping busy helped me A LOT! One day at a time is what it takes...you'll have cravings...you'll plead, beg, and drool over them, but in the end it is very much worth it!!!!

Good luck!
Lori

PS- thanks TourDeForce!

Have you cleaned your car, changed the cabin filter & eliminated all the sources of foul cig smell that you encounter? If not, this is the perfect time to go on that cleaning spree.

This is comming from someone in FLORIDA!!!!!!!! The land of perpetual good weather (well, except for the occasional hurricane ) SO some of us have to wait for this thing will call Spring, you know, it's a season, where it starts to get warm again? LOL j/k

found out today they're gonna jack up the price of a pack to $10. Guess i'm gonna have to quit, since it's gonna cost more to smoke for a week than to eat.

I quit once for two years. My wife for three.
Went out to a function one night, we got drunk and had a couple. BIG MISTAKE!
That was three years ago.
We don't smoke in the house or the cars. Only in the garage.
A pack up here is $8.50 in most provinces.
I get them from the Indian Reserve for $45 a carton.
I still love to smoke thats my problem. I only do 1/2 a pack per day. Got to quit though.
Congrats to all who have at CEG.
