While I do not own a Contour yet, I have been talking to my friends. When I mention the SVT they say "What's that? You should look for, what's it called." "A SHO?" I finish for them. "Yeah that's it, those are really nice."

Totally clueless about the CSVT, but still I get a chuckle about it.

The SVT/Contour will appreciate in value when we all ready 45-50 and start wishing for the old days and remember that sweet car we use to drive when we were in our 20s.

This could very well be the case, you just don't know. I used to go to alot of car shows back in the day (mid 90's) and still hit them today and I hear alot of guys in their 50's and even 60's saying "damn, I wish I'd kept that car" or "I didn't know those were going to be popular!" It would be interesting if this site was still going in 10 years where we'd be at with this entire culture

Lots of people lusted over the 271 hp 289 Mustangs when they were new, and they were damn rare compared to all the
200 hp deuce and 225 hp quad 289 Mustangs. Years later, when having all original equipment on a desirable car became a big deal, knowledgable people were in absolute lust for one. While many are now getting good results with various configurations of the 3L duratec, the present interest in SVT cams and intakes implies these cars will be appreciated by enthusiasts for years. The biggest flaw for these cars for future collectibility is that the population at large does not know they exist: lots of gearheads knew of the hiper 289s; few do of our 195/200 hp NA 2.5Ls.
