A similar car that I can think of is the Beretta GTZ. They are absolutely dirt cheap because there's really no interest and it has the 'domestic' stigma. Sad really, it is a pretty solid car (200hp 2.3) except for that serious head gasket issue.
WOW! I never knew that. Thats sweet! I think the CSVT will be like the Tauraus SHO. People who know about them will like them and appreciate them

If by the time you kids are in your 40's and 50's, and you still think the Contour is the best car you've ever owned, I feel sorry for you. I'm alrady in my mid-50's, and in looking back, I can think of LOTS of cars I've owned that I regret selling, but I know I will not feel that way about the Mystlque. To me, its just transportation, nothing exceptional, and definitely not a collectors car for me!

I think there may be a difference in people's perception of the SVT compared to other Contour/Mysitque packages. That's the idea behind the SVT products...make a car that enthusiats will enjoy (hopefully for a long time)!

It's already like that. I get stopped at least once a month during the time the SVT's out of the garage. Last month I was waiting for a table at a local upscale restaurant (entertaining friends) and a couple sitting next to me asked me about it; their son owns one too. Ended up talking for about 20 minutes and the guy couldn't stop raving about the car even though he's only driven it a handful of times. IIRC, the kid was wanting to sell it, and I beleive there still might be a classified up here for it.

I agree. I have had multiple people ask me about my car. People that have never owned one, or knew someone that owned one. They just remember reading about one, or had one catch their eye once. I'll never forget this lady pulling into my g-ma's driveway this past Easter asking me about it. She was telling me that she's never seen a Contour that looked so nice, and that her old Contour was her favorite car. She was my mother's age, and just kept wanting to know how I did that, and how it doesn't look like those young kids Honda's. Lol.

this reminds me of how many times people have said, "is this a sho?" and then I have to explain to them what it is. It's weird they know about the sho but the svt contour is a total mystery to them. One of my friends asked if it was a sho when he got in one night, and he acutally had a sho for a long time and he loved it, he even knew the sho had a yamaha motor, so he was no stranger to the sho but had no idea about the csvt.
