I went out and got a cheap multimeter today and concluded that there was power to the HU. I also bought a one of those books you reconmmended and found out that if someone remove the original HU without disconnecting the battery it would reset the computer and I would need to input a "code" to get it working again. I got a friend over that works on Mustangs and he said that it sounded right because we can see the OEM HU clock when we turn on the lights. But how can this be happening since I am installing a new HU? I searched the glove compartment and didn't see a "code" slip anywhere. I did manage to find a booklet for a CV radio in there though, I guess that was what was in the car before they sold it to me. I guess I hit a wall with this code thing. So probaly my question is where can I get this code, and if I have to bring it back to the dealership to get the code, do I need to put the OEM HU back in to inpujt the code.
