are they required for aftermarket wheels?
if so, why?
i don't have them on my car and have yet to have a problem like burts.
please explain these things to me.
The inside diameter of aftermarket rims are usually cut at a bigger diameter than the outside diameter of the hub on your car. This leaves a space of air between the two. The hubcentric rings take up this space and keeps your rims centered on your hubs and keeps them from moving around. If you don't have them your rims will litterally move around on your hubs on a constant basis and put lateral stress on the studs. This lateral stress is what eventually breaks them off. And when one breaks off the others are forced to take up the load that the broken stud was carrying. Thus making them more susceptable to breaking. Eventually they will all break off and give you a repair bill you don't want.
Edit, looks like Stazi beat me. Oh well..
