i bet if i looked i could find what i'm looking for but how about a little help guys.
i have a white crossfire cfa1000d which i'm told draws 125-130 amps its 250x1 rms @ 4 ohm , 500x1 rms @2 ohm, and 1000 rms @ 1 ohm
i also have a crossfire cfa404 four channel amp which draws about 35-40 amps
i have a stock 2000 svt and a 1 farad cap.
what sould i do ?
i'm thinking of a batcap but will that be enough or will i need a high output altinator as well? < can't spell today
i also need some speakers i'm tinking of 2 12" alpine type r subwoofers dual 4 ohm dvc that i can run in a 1 ohm load.
i have boston 5x7 nx87 x4 all are 4 ohm in the doors.
thanks , maxx

what are the fuses in the 1000?
my ed drew a max of 109 amps and was 1500 wrms at 1ohm @12volts..
Im thinkin that its much less thinkin maybe 90ish,
i would get a Optima yellow top or odesssy in the trunk [censored] can the cap and you should be fine

i am going to take a gamble and say that is the MOST it could possible draw. That amp seems to have a pretty reasonable amount of RMS power. Though 130 amps seems excessive.
What is each amp fused at? (total of all fuses on the ends of the amp)
Hell I have a kicker 1200.1 which does 1500rms @ 1ohm and it is fused @ 150 amps. It is designed to run well likly with a current draw of about half that all the time. 150amps continously would cause the fuse to blow.

they both have internal fuses
the crossfire tech said the cfa1000d will draw 125-130 amps keep in mind these amp where big back 98 so the technology was different then
my four channel amp also a crossfire the cfa404 which is like 55-75 watts rms @ 4 ohms i guessing it draws 35-40 amps
so worst case i'm looking at 170 amp with just the stereo system and then i have a 2000 csvt to power as well.
i think i'm going to buy a high output alternator which is 200 amp instead of the stock 120 amp alt. for $210
and a black xstatic batcap 400 for $220
and i still have a digital 1 farad car that i haven't figured out how i'm going to tie into the system yet.
so far my layout is as follows
pioneer p6400 cd player pioneer deq-7600 one din eq sound processor 2 pair 18' yellow fosgate rcas for the four channel 1 pair purple streetwires rcs for the sub amp 1 crossfire cfa404 four channel amp 1 crossfire cfa1000d mono sub amp 4 boston 5x7 nx87 4 ohm speakers
i still need a power cable i'm thinking 2 gauge at least
a pair of dual 4 ohm subs like the alpine typr -r 12" to run at a 1 ohm load.
a box i'll more than likly get a custom box
i read something about bypassing the factory amp ? what are the benifits of bypassing the factory amp in my csvt ?

Honestly unless your running it at super high volume for a long time i would get rid of the cap, and get a optima/odessy type battery. I've never heard of black xstatic batcap 400 so i can't comment on it. Your not going to be drawing 170ish amps unless your playing extreme volumes...
Upgrade the big 3 and get another battery and you should be all set

i just replaced my factory battery after 5 years of good service with an optima red top battery.did this while the car was still stock. factory battery just plain wore out.
so now i have a three month old optima red top battery i don't think it is a deep cycle battery but and good battery non the less.
it has something like a crazy 800 cold cranking amps and can be mounted in any angle or direction its a dry cell battery i think.
check it out its called a batcap made by xstatic is pretty cool you should see it.
so i'm just going to go with a high output altternator and the bat cap 400 i think that will more than cover my bases.

lol.. What are you thinking. IF you have a pair of dual 4 ohm subs you can wire it down to 1 ohm. Thats what i did with my L7's....I figure im drawing around 170 amps too, and i just have two batteries and its holding out fine so far..

i'll bet the L7's knock pretty hard how much dynomat am i going to need ?

Or playing test tones for SPL. Music will never reach levels like that. For extended playing time you may get some peaks, but the real draw is when doing a sweep or a constant low cycle (60 or lower) This varies by the subwoofer's Impedance curve.
As for adding a second battery, no need to connect it to the alternator. Just connect the front battery to the rear battery and then the amps to the rear battery. Just the postive wre needs to be run, ground each battery with the same gauge wire used to connect them.
