im looking at a 98 contour 2.5L w/atx to buy, i already own a 98 mystique LS sport 2.5L, but i cant tell which trim model it is, the rear end just says contour, and the side quarter panel on both sides reads "24v", which i know that it means 24 valves,it has leather, sunroof, spoiler and a clock built into the dash, the cd stereo is larger(height) than the one i have which i dont think is stock, but how did they fit it in, does any one have a clue which model this is

Check the vin number
look at digits 5-7
Model, Body Type
P68 Contour SVT
P67 Contour SE (95-98.0)
P66 Contour LX (95-98.0), SE (98.5)
P65 Contour GL/Base (all), LX (98.5)
M66 Mystique LS
M65 Mystique GS/Base
Since it has the dash clock...it'd be a 1998 not a 1998.5

Sounds like an LX to me. If it was a sport,it would say Sport in gold letters under the Contour emblem on the trunk. Sounds like a nice buy with all the goodies on it. I'd love to have a sunroof in my car.

Another thing to look at: Does it have side skirts? If so then it's an SE otherwise it's an LX

Or GL right? My 98 GL has V6, 24V badge, no side skirts, clock in dash, sunroof.

Um no...the GL wasn't available with leather seats.
