Just bought a new battery today from Ford. I read previous posts on here and alot of people said that Motorcraft batteries were the best so I went out and bought one. I got a 590 CCA battery with a 3 year warranty (100 month limited warranty-not sure what this means) for $89.73 after battery exchange. Did I pay to much or is it worth the price?

I try to avoid buying things from the dealer. I usually shop around before I go to the dealer. The vss I purchased last week for example. I looked at different prices from autozone, pep boys, napa, as well as ford. Ford, ironically was a little cheaper. And, after ordering the piece, I acquired it next day.

Battery? I went to Advance for that. $89 seems a little much for a battery. Plus, with what you get...I doubt I would have gone to the dealer for batt.

Is my car for sale? PM me if you're in South FL.

Considering the Motorcraft in my car lasted ~6 years it was a no brainer to spend a little extra and get another. I paid about what you did and have no regrets.

Motorcraft was a good battery in my Contour.... $10 from the Junkyard, put it right in from the junkyard, started the Contour up with no problem, I was happy

Continued to last me for a long time too until I sold the car... But the '05 Taurus has a Motorcraft battery in it

Well it's a good battery, but you did pay a bit too much. You're from MN, hence I believe you guys have Murray's up there. Check them out next time, you can get the same battery for significantly cheaper (20-30 bucks cheaper than what you paid).

You wanted a Motorcraft battery , you got one . It's a pretty good battery , so no worries .
Did you pay too much ?? Not if you're happy with what you got !

I paid about the same for the Motorcraft battery I put in my '95 SE when it died after 5 years (with no warning , mind you) . I was happy with it .

Does that help ?

$89? ouchie.

We just got our 2nd duralast a few weeks ago, to replace our 5 year old one that died out because we never drove the car because nobody was here to drive it..

Thankfully for whatever reason autozone gave us $23 for the old one and so the new one was just under $40 I'm cool with that.

You paid a common price for the best of the two batteries that Ford offers. They sometimes run a battery special selling that same battery for $79.95 on a national advertising program. They also have a value line battery that often sells for about $20.00 less. The warranty is shorter and it is not made as well.
