The spray on stuff is just a "maintence" between waxing or just to make your car look good at the shows/meets. Usually the paste will last longer, supposedly but I've never had any problems with using the liquid. Now as far as the gel goes, I've never heard of that, maybe that because Mequiars.....opps I'm sorry, you said not to say who's best
