You could also start it once in a while and take it for a drive when the roads are clear. BTW I think the windshield washer solution (some) already has alcohol in it, check the label.

yes, start it now and then. We usually start ours once a month and let it run for roughly 5 minutes. We also park the cars on flat boards, and every 2 weeks we roll the cars a bit. Usually we start at the front of the boards, roll to middle after 2 weeks, roll to back after 2 weeks, then roll all the way to the front. We also store ours in car jackets with large dessicant packs thrown in. The rotors looks shiny when the cars roll out in the spring. additionally, we don't close the doors all the way. Close them enough so that you can lock the doors, but be sure you can still pull the door outward a bit.

I just stored my car for the winter, and unfortunately it's outdoors. I put fuel stabilizer in it,removed the battery and have it covered up. It is parked on gravel and I have tarps over the wheels so the snow doesn't get all over the brakes, and since it is parked outside,I left it in gear, rather than using the e-brake incase it sticks. I also had an oil change done, and only have like 200km into the new oil,but I only did the oil change because I was supposed to be driving the car for the winter.
Good idea about the baking soda. I might have to do that. I'm not really concerned too much about the snow getting under the car, because in the spring the motor is being pulled and rebuilt,& body & paint is being done.
I also just have the car parked on the ground on stock steelies with balding crappy tires that I don't care if they go flat.

you leave the doors slightly ajar because of the rubber seals
use Stabil brand fuel stabilizer. I believe the bottle is good for up to 2 years after opened, so if you have multiple vehicles, as well as things like lawnmowers, you can buy the bigger bottle and save.

I've been known to store mine longer than winter and just made sure the battery is charged, run it for about 15min a month and it gets an oil change first time out. I might start using stabilzer, but interesting idea about the baking soda.

They make special baking soda boxes just for such purposes. They have big screens on the side to allow more air/odors to flow through.
