yes, start it now and then.
We usually start ours once a month and let it run for roughly 5 minutes.
We also park the cars on flat boards, and every 2 weeks we roll the cars a bit. Usually we start at the front of the boards, roll to middle after 2 weeks, roll to back after 2 weeks, then roll all the way to the front.
We also store ours in car jackets with large dessicant packs thrown in. The rotors looks shiny when the cars roll out in the spring.
additionally, we don't close the doors all the way. Close them enough so that you can lock the doors, but be sure you can still pull the door outward a bit.
