that 350 is HIDEOUS! that entire kit just doesn't flow with anything on that car.. The RX7 is beautiful and appears to have the same colors on it as my Coug.. fuggin' sweet. As far as drifting.. I really don't get it.. I'm a big fan of the Teckademics vids and this last one featured alot of drifting in it.. I can appreciate drifting around corners when going laps but not just doing random side drifts which seem to have no purpose.. I'd rather watch Autocross or a Lemans Race anyday.

First off, just because these cars are in a movie and have a lot of aesthetic modifications, that doesn't mean they even touched one thing performance wise. Also, by showcasing a vehicle that you yourself have modded you are accepting the fact that opinions are going to be made. People with stock vehicles flaming those who have modded in some way have every right to do so. And I will judge other peoples' work as much as a want because I am a human being that forms opinions
Those cars are hideous and don't inherently deserve any respect.

i said they most likely habve nothing done performence wise. But there faster then our cars are in their stock mode...so there better to start with....but i can apreciate almost anything people do to their cars cuz they like it....but if u gotta be anal like that then thats your own fault for being ignorant...and besides even though i love the contour...and i drive an svt...there still rental cars....at least those cars have aftermarket support....they apeal to the masses. but im done with this comment cuz arguing on the internet is pointless...

Just because something appeals to the masses does not make it good.
Also, technically the masses drive contours and rental cars. Not 350z's and evo's. The masses > tuner crowd.
As far as saying those cars are better performers than contours, stock for stock. That may be true, but as far as aftermarket looks, I bet alot of people would agree that a stock SVT is better looking than some of those "aftermarket" cars.

People want to see cars that they could potentially afford down the road. Nobody wants to see a movie about Contours and stock Honda Civics. It makes it more exciting, and something to "look up to." But they don't go so far as to making it about Ferraris and Lambos, as most people know they will never be able to afford the cars, and therefore see it as unrealistic.

Unrealisitc... Didnt you see the opening scene of 2 fast 2 furious? Where the car jumps off the bridge. Dont talk about realistic when it comes to this [censored], these movies glorify the street ricer mentality of "i own the road" "everyone thinks im the best" and that there are always 1000000 people at a car meet. The movies are plain stupid and thats all that can be said.

Hmmmm. Methinks you should go to one of the larger meets in larger towns. I just went to one in a Best Buy parking lot about the same size of the one in 2F2F, minus the bikes. Trust me, LOTS of people go to the good ones. If you guys listen to the commentary on the 2F2F DVD, the director tells you why all the stuff is exaggerated...It's because he wanted it to be like Japanese manga and anime. The first movie was much more 'serious' than the second in my opinion. I look forward to this third one, simply because there aren't a whole lot of car movies that come out anymore, and I'll take what I can get.

excellent point. yes the movie was unrealistic but i understood your point. those are the kinds of cars that the 20 year old and younger crowd aspire to own.
in F&F2 one of the guys was driving a Yenko Super Coupe. how many F&F viewers even know what that is? how many CEGers even know what that is? the majority of that demographic are hooked on Japanese cars.
